If any particular Israeli were genuinely interested in solving the problem of why 'peace' is so evasive he or she would start with the cause. Specifically, many Israelis have huge fortunes in money and prestige invested in the status quo. Until those individuals who are thoroughly vested in keeping things stagnant are identified publicly and forced to explain their policy positions publicly and unambiguously they will always have the power to tie things up. It is too late at this point, but if it were to happen that is the only way it could start. Public types who speak in platitudes about what is necessary, but ignore this, are empty talking suits.
