"The cabinet approved Sunday the joint statement presented by Israel and the Palestinian Authority at the Annapolis summit, which commits the sides to seek a comprehensive peace agreement by the end of 2008." From another Haaretz story today: "On Sunday Prime Minister Ehud Olmert dampened optimism from the Mideast conference, saying Israel does not recognize the 2008 target date as a deadline for peacemaking." Typical Israeli doubletalk when it comes to peace. Any wonder why there is not a shred of trust for Israel anywhere in the world??
