This is a beautiful city with a smorgasbord of ethnicities. One unique burough of the city is Outremont. The area is home to 2 big groups. The upper crust of the French and the shtetl mindset of the Hassid. Two diametrically opposites of the spectrum. Yet over the years both groups have learned to live side by side. If any problem will arise in the next decade it will be for space. The Hassid population is growing while the French and also the English populations are not. The recent vandalism of the Outremont synagogue is sad but by no means is it an indication of a tremendous rise in attacks on the Jewish population.
