Stephen, A short comment on your contribution to the debate. I think you are right. You should never categorise a whole group as one. People are different. However, a settler who chooses to live in a settlement should be aware of what he/she is doing. He is building his house on the continued suffering of the Palestinians and is hence a part of the problem. If the settler is truly a good person his consience should tell him to return to Israel and leave the West Bank to the Palestinians. Some settlers may even treat their employees well - yes - but that formulation makes me feel uncomfortable because it does not change the wrong doing the settler is doing in the first place just by choosing to live in the settlement. Treating a slave well does not make slavery the right thing to do!
