With all due respect to Mr. Moishe Arens, a former and distinguised minister, I would like to say - is mistaken. Israel is not a country like any country - that does humane acts like saving Jews or tomorrow Sudanese or whoever. Israel was founded as a Jewish state , to act as a homeland for Jews and for Jews only. The situation dictated at the time the state was created for the government to give equality at the time, since when Israel was created as a state there were many Arab and other inhabitants, and the Jewish didn't not conquer Israel militarily , as in the days of Joshua, but was given the right to the land by the United Nations, Israel was forced to grant eqaual status and rights to those inhabitants of the land .However , this was because the political situation forced this upon the new state. It was not the natural choice. The JNF was created to redeem Israel and it's lands and to revert to Jewish ownership. Would you consider the YMCA an udemocramtic and discriminatory

How the bagel went from shtetls to haute cuisine

A visit to the world's bagel capital is a chance to marvel at how this unassuming Jewish-Ashkenazi food has come from its 17th-century beginnings.
