The op-Ed misses the point by arguing that the State and its defense establishment are mature enough to face the truth of past war crimes perpetrated by the IDF. That would have been true were the state's military establishment behave within the norm of International law. If indeed these protected documents 'prove' that war crimes have been committed beyond Deir Yassin and Tantura, then they will lend credence to the accusation that Israel is habitually a rogue state.
