I was expecting a column about what North Americans consider "liberal Judaism" -- Reform / Conservative / Reconstructionist / Renewal. The Conservatives are still working out their approach to homosexuality and GLBT Jews. All other denominations (I think) have fully accepted GLBT Jews as congregants and rabbis. A rabbit can be "liberal", or "Orthodox" -- but not both. The column demonstrates this unfortunate truth. Charles
