I live in one of these small communities in the Misgav Regional Council, which is leading the fight to preserve and perpetuate this discriminatory practice. Misgav's demographics are overwhelmingly affluent, Ashkenazi, secular and left wing.. Many of these people are living on located on confiscated Arab land. I strongly condemn the blatant hypocrisy practiced by Misgav and hundreds of other municipalities. There is no moral or practical justification for communities to screen or reject residents. Contrary to Mr. Hermesh's claim, this practice is illegal in the US and the European Community. Section 6 is window dressing. The Apartheid committees in these communities reject people for "social computability" based on ethic origin, religious practice, sexual orientation, etc. This bill serves only to legalize a practice that is currently widespread but illegal. I hope that the Supreme Court throws this law in the rubbish bin, where it belongs.
