The appeal of coming to Israel as a country of the Jewish people still has plenty of appeal. Alliyah is both a benefit and a burden to society. The downside is Allah is one of the biggest government expenses every year, no alliyah government could save million. their kids need to be schooled which contributes toward larger class sizes, they compete with native Israelifor jobs.It also helps create a property shortage and higher prices ( supply & demand ). At the same time the richer olim bring new money into the country which benefits the economy many of the richer ones are also university educated so the brain drain created from Israelis leaving is at least partly being made up for by the rich and educated olim. The brain drain amongst Israelis is of course about wealth, its only natural they come from a country where wages are low and hours long that they would like to move to a country where you can earn Whilst foreigners coming to Israel because they believe in ideals. Israels look at the living standards in other countries and thinks I want some of that, its something they never experienced. I am an olleh from the UK but my girlfriend is native Israeli and she thinks I am mad for coming here and says she dreams of living in London. Sometimes we joke and she says one day I will have to choose between her and living in Israel because she wants to leave Israel if she can ( for the money ).

from the article: Israel has worst rate of brain drain in West, study shows
