This is not a matter of tactical war fare, defensive shiled, cast lead even lebanon prove that idf can deal with military threat, but the problem is 1. how much terror/ attacks on the home front does israel have to endure in the process 2. What happens the day after, do we really want to continue ruling over these people who we know again and again with shun israeli rule 3. Do we want to absorb these palestinians into israeli society and so loose jewish majority. Israel is neither aparthied of rascist, it is a state that has a cultural identity, if it chooses long term to protect this cultural identity , there will have to be a comprimise on terroritory. The fact that non of our most hawkish prim minister have chosen the path of annexation in the past is not by mistake once you sit at the top of the pile the view is much clearer. The wall and the settlements are an attempt as they always have been to create a defensive wring for gush dan. land swap will be the end solution and also a massive amount of reparations trouble is that untill Jordan Syria and Egypt sort themsleves out nothing is gonna happen. Its a shame we didnt realize this earlier it could have saved a lot of anguish. all these years we should have been shining a massive light on the plight of the arab masses
