Wow, I love the internet, but seriously. The press / blogosphere is really out of control. We have had tactical nukes for years. In the Army, Joes were employed to run them into an area, drop them off, and run like hell. Do we have tactical nukes? Yes. Do we plan FOR using them? Yes. Do we plan TO use them? NO! The US military has to take everything into account when planning things. These documents are then declassified, FOIAed, etc... and people freak out screaming "Armageddon! Get ready for Mad Maxx and/or Waterworld!" All options need to be planned for and considered. At the end, tactical nukes were not the answer in Afganistan and Iraq. They would have just blown up in our faces, that is why we did not use them. Would they solve problems in Iran? No, and everybody knows this. Weapons grade explosives, chemicals, nuclear material can be traced to the source. And the US would be in the target of EVERY terrorist and blogger (and rightfully so) on the planet if we nuked anything. I agree with the poster who said something to the effect that idiots should not cover something so serious--well, maybe I am just paraphrasing ;).
