has it occured to you that even a progressive, secular democracy in the middle east might not be such good news for Israel? Israel has relatively speaking been getting an easy ride from its neighbouring dictators. A true democracy, secular or otherwise, representing Arab public opinion will demand that Israel behave as a true democracy, and give Palestinian their land and their rights no ifs and no buts. And there will no longer be the lame excuse that Israel is 'the ony democracy in the middle east'.
