I worked closely with Michal when she was head of the Sacramento Federation. As a leader in the young adult group at the time, she was always very kind and supportive of me. This included inviting me to Shabbat dinner at her home with Senior Federation members. She was also excellent at her job in Sacramento. It was not until she and Noam Harel left that the Sacramento Federation went down hill. I think she just expressed the unofficial position of nearly the entire Federation system. It was expressed in an abrasive tone, and many parts raised my blood pressure, but then again she did have some valid points. Sweeping things under the rug is not the way to go. I'm glad she wrote what she did because it is highly indicative of the Federation system. She will be an asset to any Jewish organization in the future.
