What kind of "Jewish Character" is it that Israel would like to preserve? I have asked this question here many times, but never got an answer. You have provided an answer with your -"the teachings of Judaism and the teachings of ethics, will offer a chance for the continued existence of the State of Israel as a state that fulfills the dreams imbued in it when it came into being."- Israel lost its way when it choosed to occupy the territories and lost its soul and support by ordinary people around the world. The end of the occupation will offer Israelis a choice to regain its soul and support of ordinary people or be "both here and there" and keep falling into the abyss. "Ethics and Judaism", they were once linked. Now the have to be re-tought to a lost generation, a generation that looked on when their parents lost their souls and then carried on the deeds of their fathers in regard to the down trodden masses of the occupied territories and in turn lost theirs. The Israeli right have lost their Jewish ethics and the Israeli left have lost their Jewish souls. The occupation was bound to bring a price on Israel and that price is getting heftier by the day. GET OUT! Save yourself and return to the path of the rightious, the "pull out foes" certainly must have open a couple of eyes. They aren't the salt of the earth exactly, rather a sign that everything is lost, even though it may not be to late to address that dooms day scenario. "Yes even Palestinians" is what needs to be added when your children asks you if it is wrong to kill, steal, loot, robb, torture, punish etc? "Yes my son, it is wrong even to Palestinians" and when they ask you "Then why did you"? You can use these few lines from the poet: "I guess I lost my way/ but there's oh so many roads"
