Would you be so kind as to direct me to the exact article of the charter that you think would be violated? It might be worthwhile to note that democracy is definitely no requisite for statehood, in fact there are countless of UN-members that are not democratic. Since Palestine meets the Montevideo criteria on statehood the UNGA will recognize Palestine with a large majority.
