A tv. show last night on the Mexican Revolution was interesting at a time when these arab uprisings are occurring, They did have heros of the revolution, including Pancho Villa and Zapata. At one point, some leaders helped the poor more than others with agrarian reform; at other times, they set the clock backwards. We entered WWI to fight Germany because they were arming Mexico and threatened to help Mexico take back Arizona, NM and Texas. During WWII, Mexico was an ally. 100 hundred years after the Revolution and many ups and downs, Mexico is where it is today. It isn't Russia, it isn't Eastern Europe. Maybe the Middle East too is unique and can't be compared to all the rest, depending on what countries and ideals influence it.
One week later, death toll in Taiwan earthquake rises to 113; 4 missing (AP)
