I don't know why people consider this article controversial. It is well known that Sharon's agenda was to impose a 1.5 state solution with the wall as Israel's border, and the Palestinian territories as cantons with no real sovereignty. This is more or less official government policy. All Meron has done is restated it, and ventured the opinion that it is deluded, just as the earlier "Jordan is Palestine" plan was never going to work. "Unilateral peace" is a bit like "unilateral sex" - it's either rape or masturbation. Sharon's unique genius was to craft a policy containing equal measures of both.
