The need to preempt Iran and export gas to Egypt was the reason the government gave to push through its controversial plan for Israel's natural gas. Now, this reason may no longer exist.08:52 31.08.15 | 1 comments
Whilst the author of this article is trying to imply Bibi is trying to get Channel 10 shut down because its had a few nasty things to say about him and his wife no proof can be offered to support this as the reason. The article even admits that its lawmakers of the Knesset Economic Affairs Committee ( not Bibi ) and the reason is unpaid bills, there isn't even any mention of the idea of closing Channel 10 over this. The station wants to defer payment of money it owes thats the only thing sinister here. If you do want to write about attempts top stifle free press then why not write about the attempts by Meretz MK Zehavia Galon and her war on the right wing media. In 2003 she managed to get the courts to close down the very right wing Arutz 7 radio station and later tried and failed to have its website closed down on the grounds of incitement to murder palestinians towards the palestinians in an article written which the courts upheld there was non of after an investigation by the police. Just months ago this same Meretz MK tried the same trick with the Jerusalem Post website claiming some of their editorials were incitement against palestinians. Who is really trying to stop freedom of the press here Bibi or the far left politicians?
