"For God sake he is a 14 year old Kid!!I dont even think such treatment of captive children happen anywhere else in teh world." Militancy sucks wherever you care to look. Tragically, children are often at the top of the casualty list. This is hardly specific to Israel. On at least three continents, children as young as 10 are kidnapped, drugged, armed and marched off into battle. In Africa, this happens in Liberia with amphetemines and machettes. In Asia, the Khemer Rouge (of yester year) and the Burmese of today, do it with Ka and swords. In Columbia and Peru, it's cocaine and machine guns.... That was off the top of my head. Upon research, we can all see that this is an issue in over 30 countries and affects 300,000 children: http://www.yapi.org/conflict/ http://news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/find_out/guides/world/child_soldiers/ http://hrw.org/campaigns/crp/index.htm http://www.worldvision.org/childrenofwar from the unicef site (with an address that is too long): Hundreds of thousands of children in conflict situations around the world are still: * recruited or abducted as soldiers * victims of landmines * forced to witness violence and killing * orphaned by violence * targets of sexual violence Conflict has a catastrophic impact on overall health conditions as well. In a typical five-year war, the mortality rate of children under five increases by 13 percent.
