Israel does not enjoy anything close to normal relations from numerous UN states. And frankly, Jews in Palestine have been at war since the 1930s. Israel has since been singled out, time & again, in the UN for minor violations in comparison to those regularly taking place in the powerful ethnic blocs next door, the ones that echo with threats of Israel's destruction. Wiesel is frustrated, and rightly so. What overtures have the Arab states really extended to Israel, and when did they begin arriving? Within the last decade, maybe? Meanwhile, even nations that have treaties with Israel ritualistically recall their ambassadors when Israel is battling extremist "liberation" groups; sadly, anti-Semitism is so common there, it's become thoroughly uninteresting to the otherwise sanctimonius Left. Perhaps Iran should not be expelled, but let's try to wratchet down the hatred. In our zeal to create a Palestinian state, hopefully Jews, Christians, and Muslims can *all* survive the process.
