Mehmet gleefully concludes that Israel is racist based on the opposition to the bilingual school reported in an Israeli newspaper. Of course, he ignores the existence of the school and of its supporters as well as the fact that this incident was (disapprovingly) reported in an Israeli newspaper as evidence that some Israeli's might not be racist. Furthermore, his blanket characteristisation of all opponents as racist is overly simplistic and is not supported by the opinions quoted in the article. What seems to be at play is an age old Jewish parochialism which advocates Jewish isolation from all non-Jews in order to stave off assimilation. Whether you approve of this approach or not (it's not my personal cup of tea), any intellectually honest person without an anti-Israel or anti-Jewish axe to grind would see that things are not so black and white as Mehmet claims.
