"I hope Pat Robertson is not pushing for Armaggedon. Is he?" - Ben Gurion Pat has been forced to the side lines when Karl Rove decided in early 2001 that Dubbya should become the 'leader' of the religious right. A major reason why Robertson has taken to making outlandish proclamations. "The Eldar article is written from the point of view of the Rational Left, which wants to see the US forcing Israel into a more rational policy." - BG With the extreme right in power here it will never happen. If the democrats get into power by some miracle, they would have to be very gentle (compare how GHW Bush could lean on Israel as to how Clinton could) out of fear of the "Jewish Block" of voters being upset. I don't think the Israeli left can expect any real help from the US in rationalizing Israeli policies.
