Living in the North, I don't go to Jerusalem very often, but I make sure i have my coins ready. I know it's not much, but it's Tzedakah. Other than that, where I live, I put some of the change I get from purchases I make at the grocery store, or specialty shops , a shekel, sometimes less, in the pushke that most of them keep out and available for anybody, including me, to contribute. I figure a small amount won't make me "poorer", and, it might even make me "richer".
