Having worked hard to support the anti-boycott campaign here in the UK and having witnessed the vicious agit-prop and overt Israel denial of those in the far left who were behind the pro-boycott campaign here, I can only salute McQueen's sentiments as a proper and appropriate response. This is by no means a clear cut issue, muddied by the Pappes of this world on the one hand and those who promoted conferring university status on Ariel college on the other. At heart is academic freedom. Of course Palestinian universities should enjoy the same freedoms, but boycotting Israeli academic institutions with Israeli academics at the forefront of seeking it, simply doesn't achieve this.
