Israeli's work long hours but have much lower salaries than western countries despite the fact that the cost of living is very high. The standards of education have consistently fallen and the price of Higher Education has gone up dramatically, so it is hardley a suprize that less people can afford the additional studies need to be accepted into university and then the spriling cost of university education. Whats more a degree does not ensure a higher salary these days for many young people. Motivation is strong in the Israeli workforce but lack of realistic financial reward beats them down.
