This article really resonates with me as I'm a Semetic-looking, Israeli born Jew, of Iraqi ancestry (Babylonian Jewry) that is of those exiled from destruction of the First Temple era in Jerusalem, raised within a Traditional-Reform Jewish religious background and of leftist political leaning background, who happens to live now in Diaspora, where once was married to a Polish born, Ashkenazi secular Jew , raised in Diaspora, by Holocaust parents, and now with sons, maintains a traditional religious outlook, with centrist political ideals, but somehow landed into a Modern-Orthodox affiliated synagogue community, who make me feel at home (most of the time). Having some clarity of one's identity does wonders!
