None of us can know the exact scenario for the end of Israel but as long as Israel continues on the current path, the eventual end of Israel is a sure thing. You might be correct that the IDF has no will to suffer the massive deaths that would be needed to "defeat" Hamas, and this whole scenario will go on for an indefinite future. But the longer Gaza and the WB suffer, the more likely the end of Israel. It took the Jews almost 2000 years to return to Jerusalem, but I suspect that the Arabs will take back their land much sooner than that. There is a way to stop the future destruction of Israel but no one in Israel seems to have the will to do it, so as you suggest, the world will see periodic "minor" massacres in Gaza for a few more years. BTW - the censors dislike "doomsday" talk so this will probably not be published.
