"First, why would it be worst than, say, the millions killed in Russia during the Stalin regime, or the millions killed in Cambodia during the regime of Pol Pot?" - mark Or the tens of millions who died in the Taiping Rebellion? The Holocaust was cold blooded murder, much like Pol Pot's Killing Fields. The Holocaust was a methodical implementation of a quite popular belief, often called a 'science', of the late 19th and first half of the 20th century. Eugenics. The belief that there were good genetic strains and bad genetic strains and the the tree of humanity deserved some inhumane pruning. "Second, fair-minded people throughout the world have never understood the idea of Jewish exceptionalism." - mark I don't believe in it either. Rather I understand that every group, nation, family, and even cell mates have the smug idea that they are a bit exceptional in the back of their minds. I don't think you comprehend what a horror the Holocaust was and how many lives it touched.
