Mark, I agree totally. Fayad and Abbas have to be very worried men right now. While neither Hamas or Fatah had a majority of votes in the last election, it is unlikely that Fatah would do as well now as it did then. I think that the reason Abbas is reorganizing the government every few weeks is to avoid having to hold elections. The problem is that if it happens much more it will look very desperate. If all Abbas has delivered is civil war, and no prospect of a settlement with Israel, I think he has next to nothing to offer the Palestinian people.
