Regarding Segev's article, I can accept that Olmert is not the new Begin, but I find it very it's disheartening to learn his alliances are leaning more toward the dark side. I wanted to address Marilyn's comments about hate from the US. There are a few key factors that have brought forth a climate of fear and hatred here. The US congress is influenced by lobbyists that you could call Zionist. With Iraq, it's plain that the USA wants a piece (i.e. control) of the Middle East and will do whatever it can to get it, to the extent of redefining war for the 21st century as a self-perpetuating, unstoppable force, the end result of which is deaths in the hundreds of thousands while greedy people make money and exercise influence. Peaceful coexistence in Jerusalem or anywhere else is the last thing the people in control of America want.
