Howdy Marilyn; You said, "Israel was told in 1967 that all their settlements were illegal and ignored that advice." And who was that exactly? Israel also had advice from others who said the exact opposite. What about the 7% of the land in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip that was legally purchased by Jews between 1880 and 1947? What about the 60% of the land that wasn't privately owned by anybody? What about the fact that the Green Line was an armistice line and not a border (at Arab insistence by the way)? The legality or illegality of any Israeli settlement depends on where the border is and that can only be determined by a mutually acceptable agreement between Israel and the PA and not by any third party including the UN and the ICJ. You are predetermining the outcome of future negotiations by assuming that you know where the border is and you have no authority to do so.
