Many thanks to Gideon Levy and Haaretz's for their commitment to the truth. In today's world what is popular is not always right and what is right is not always popular. Thus your words are likely to be dismissed or ridiculed. But as Gandhi said the truth is the path to justice and if we have to choose between peacefulness and truthfulness--it must be truthfulness. Hence truthfulness becomes the foundation of our human relationships and indeed our human systems. We all know Democracy requires the truth to work and so does everything else --it seems. Throughout history leaders have remind us of this such as Jesus of Nazareth in John 8:32 , "You will come to know the truth and the truth will set you free" and the American civil rights leader Martin Luther King. I am convinced Nelson Mandela who spent over 20 years in prison was prepared to die for the truth that corrupted his government system because in the truth lies justice and the victory! This has been demonstrated time again and time agian thoughout history in the French Revolution; the American Reviolution and the Russian Revolution! No doubt others to come! Today, their words line the gateways to many of our prestigious institutions whom themselves have difficulty abiding with the truth. Such is the nature of man and his often greedy designs to lay claim to something which is not his such as in "new realities" on the ground in Israel or WMD in Iraq. But truth seeking people will and have never accept such truth as "new realities" as they deny the Palestinian people their lawful and just rights or WMD in Iraq denying tIraqis their soverign rights. As Abraham Lincoln said you can't fool all the people all of the time. How right he was! Thus today on another side of the Atlantic yours words are being echoed by other truth seeking people. Please read James Brooks in his column: Israel's corruption was Inevitable, The Spoils of War. (http://www.counterpunch.org/brooks12312005.html ) Many thanks again, Dutch
