Contrary to almost universal agreement, Bush is no fool. Sure, he's given India's nuclear program, both civilian and military, the green light by promising the biggest democracy technolgy and fuel. But, it didn't come cheap for India. In return, India has to deliver mangos which as everyone, at least in the West, knows is a dietary staple, burgers and fries notwithstanding. As for Iran, there is already talk about "back channel" consultations between Washington and Tehran involving the same deal as was made with India, but the "Quo" for this deal will be pistachio nuts, an absolutely essential component in American cuisine, especially in the making of Halvah. Who knows, maybe we'll even see a deal struck between the two juniors of the US and North Korea involving mini-nukes for kim chee?
