There is an election in Malaysia coming up shortly. The ruling party has currently been losing Malay votes in large numbers, especially in the rural muslim areas,to the opposition and needs to bolster its traditional and now shaky base. The controlled media has been playing the " Israeli" card for some time now and does so by identifying its political opposition with Israel and jewish interests. These have in the past been loudly accused as "interfering" in Malaysian elections and standard commercial dealings. Gaza is far removed from Malaysia and the ruling party apparently has not been able to get a Palestinian invitation to visit the West Bank.
