Such a move would force the world to confront Israel having two sets of laws for the people under its control; one set for legal residents of Israel and Jewish residents of the West Bank, and one for Arab residents of the West Bank. Israel could no longer hide behind the argument that the status quo in the West Bank is merely temporary, pending some never to be reached agreement. Israeli apartheid would be exposed in all its ugliness for the world (with the exception of U.S. congressmen) to see. Then the world could move to a full blown response of boycotts, sanctions and disinvestment, a la South Africa.
