Answer: a perception... The perception that the US supports the Israeli policy of denying indigenous non-Israelis, in the occupied territories, full participation in the political process of formulating the policies and laws that are used by Israel to control and colonize those occupied territories. Many Americans are beginning to realize that the "light unto the world" is treating the non-Israelis in the same sad way the US treated native American Indians in the 19th and early 20th centuries. I believe that Israel believes that it has a "manifest destiny" to create a "greater Israel" from the Med. sea to the Jordanian border with the Indigenous Arabs/Semites relegated to several non-contiguous tribal-areas/refugee-camps/reservations with no representation in the Israeli government controlling those reservations.
