"Keren Mor, one of Israel's leading actresses, was questioned by Tel Aviv police Friday on suspicion of using marijuana." In just a few years time that is going to seem so ridiculous. That a substance that is proven to be about as harmful and addictive as coffee warrants police questioning its use. People are aware of the truth and the propaganda that still dictates how the police and justice system persecutes users are made to look like corrupt bullies. "In Israel 2014," Reif wrote, "when a [former] prime minister is accused of crimes, a [former] president sits in prison for rape, and organized crime families run wild in the streets, I really don't understand how my joint made it to the front pages and the TV news shows." Because the media is complicit with the status quo. Instead of reporting on the lies and corruption that has prolonged the prohibition of cannabis for many decades, increasing crime and ruining many millions of lives needlessly, they have made a very good living off sensationalising its supposed harms and disgracefully shaming public figures who have used it. Guess what! Millions and millions of people all around the world use cannabis on a regular basis with little to no harm to themselves and others. A medicinal herb that has been used for thousands of years with no direct deaths ever proven from its use. Compare that to alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, paracetamol, aspirin even water. The tide has most definitely turned and stories such as this will be something to look back on in astonishment as to why we allowed this ludicrous state of affairs to continue for so long.
