I actually met the Lubavitche Rebbe in Toronto 39 years ago. He was very wise man and dispensed some very interesting advice to my late parents. However, I cannot buy into this religious vitriole. Lets face facts here. While you guys are sitting in Yeshivas and shuls studying Torah, the terrorists are trying to get into Israel to kill everyone. Who stops them??? The Yeshiva Buchers that don't enter military service?? The Rabbis sitting interpreting Talmud and scholarly writings from ages gone by??? The reality is that if the Jews of Israel all sat in their shuls and yeshivas and studied Torah all day long the Arab hordes would have annihilated everyone in Eretz Yisrael long long ago. Perhaps it was this "faith" in Hashem that actually allowed more Jews to die in World War II. The wise ones ran for the hills or to other countries, while the religious ones waited for Hashem to save them. I am the child of two Holocaust survivors and despite losing my fathers entire family.
