I was a member of the Canadian Wrestling team at the 5th games (1957) where I met Joyce Meyer (Abraham) who was on the Indian table tennis team. She won a gold medal which was a first for India. She has since competed twice for Great Britain and 3 times for Canada winning a total of 14 medals. She also went to another 2 games as a coach. Competing for 3 countries, winning 14 medals and competing in 6 games may be a Maccabiah record?? We spent 2 months traveling through Israel the 1957 games and she went back to India and I to Canada. We corresponded for 9 years before marrying. We are still happily married and had 3 children on the way. At present she is in Israel where she was invited by the Indian team to march with them in the opening ceremony. She would now be listed as Joyce Hecht. She is staying with family in Tel Aviv.
