Obamas chances of reelection hinge on one issue. Iran. Either he will go to war with iran or he will not. If he does start a war with Iran, I would expect that he will not even receive the nomination of his party. If he does not start a war with Iran, the American right wing will be energized as never before. In the unlikely event that a thoroughly unqualified person, such as Palin, was nominated by the Republicans, I would hope that the democrats would send forth their best possible candidate. That may or may not be Obama. The early signs are mixed. The Iran issue will decide.
