Lots of European troops were in Korea in the 50s. It was a UN operation when the UN meant more than now. Only the USSR opted out. Chine back then was represented by Taiwan. The Red Airforce fought for the North and the Red Chinese sent a million combat veteran troops over the border against the UN. At this point NATO is fatigued with Afghanistan and Kosovo and Serbia and Bosnia. And Canada has already been actively at war since 2002 in Afghanistan and taking casualties, some even blue on blue.. The last war in Korea had hundreds and sometimes thousands die in a single day. And both sides are fairly up to date technologically.
