I am amazed that this issue has been lingering for over 5 years. Even after Shalit's release, how is Israel going to compensate him and his family for the years he lost in captivity while the Israeli officials responsible for the negotiations were playing chess matches with his captors and only now admitting "mistakes". Even Mubarak, Israel's biggest cheerleader in the Arab world, complained several times about Israel reneging on agreements in the last minute. Hamas demands remained consistent throughout the negotiations. It was Israel who kept changing the rules whenever an agreement was almost at hand.
