Allison Sommer obviously knows nothing about the climate in London. we get the same annual rainfall as Tel Aviv ( around 55 mm/yr) but in far less intensive bursts. Even in a dry winter tel Aviv has to cope with far more torrential rain as its rain falls within a few months not spread throughout the year.. Recent floods in the UK caused drownings in cars, closed motorways and railway lines and shut cities yet were caused by far less and intensive rain than in Tel Aviv. London could never cope with 100mm of rain in a day. Our infrastructure is just not built to cope with this.
