According to the article the Israeli Supreme Court ruled that "a permanent, total restriction of Palestinian traffic on the road was not permissible". This means that the restriction cannot be both permanent and total. The IDF need only assure that either the restriction is not permanent or that it is not total. The editorial is vague so it is difficult to determine what the IDF has done. But if the restrictions on Arab Palestinians is not total, the IDF has answered the concerns of the Supreme Court. If this disappoints some of the editors of Ha'Aretz, well, they should learn to live with disappointment.
