Perhaps Gideon Levy is right but let's remember that Israel is still offering 1,000 prisoners in exchange for one young soldier, who was abducted from within Israeli territory. Even then Mr. Levy chooses (as always) to blame Israel for the situation and not Hamas. I suppose WE are also to blame for the fact that the Hamas prisoners are allowed Red Cross visits whilst they have not seen Gilad even once. It is easy to comment when you are posting from Europe, the US or elsewhere - obviously buses are not going to be blown up by the released Hamas prisoners outside of Israel. But we know that a percentage of any released terrorists will return to that activity. In addition such a release of prisoners within the West Bank will probably bring down the current PLO government and for that reason the US President is against the release of Hamas people in the West Bank. The USA has invested a great deal in the West Bank over the past few years and they don't need a growing presence of Hamas within that area which is currently thriving economically.
