I lived in a poor neighbourhood, it is not that bad, did fine at school and then university. You can only live where you can afford to, ask everyone who would love to upgrade to the better parts of town, you can't unless you can afford to. Doctors in Israel earn around 50 shekels an hour and many can not afford the nicer neighborhoods. No one is forced to come to Israel. Talpiot is very mixed with poor and the richer living in the same proximity. Access to jobs? You need education and initiative and drive is important in getting that. Acces to schools, there are plenty schools in Talpoit that will do fine in helping you get there...... And my kids, went to a regular school with morrcan , Ethiopian, asken, kourdim, etc etc and did fine. Education starts in the home first, the schools cannot mother you to do better. And yes Ethiopians live in my neighbourhood as do almost every kind of Israeli......
