Our second exodus (from Europe) to the promsied land was done by people who were not yet free of the 'holocaust' and therefore are still thinking of the mentality of being slaved again.. The continuous war that israel has suffered for 58years is keeping the 'holocaust' experience alife, preventing us from thinking in term of our responsibilities of being the chosen people, pushing us to live in fear instead of living free so we can lead with our moral values and becoming 'light unto nations' We have paid dearly to return again to our promised land.. but the real challenge is to return to our moral values.. to earn being the choosen people.. not because we are superior race, but because we are entrusted to be a leading race.. a beacon of moral values.. Deep inside each of us we recognize this challange. I think that what drive CJ Barak to write his letter to his friend.
