There's an understatement...There's a "perception" that the US favors Israel. much like the perception that pandas prefer bamboo, or the perception that bears like salmon...or the perception that mammals like breathing...perhaps that perception exists because, no matter what Israel does, they get a blank check from the US, except for the occasional light public 'scolding' (while the cash and weapons keep flooding in, unimpeded). I don't think this does anyone any favors. I don't think that this particular issue can ever be resolved while one side continues to play out a major strategic advantage...it simply does not lend credence to negotiations whatsoever....feels like a sham, like burning the candle at both ends, and in the middle, too. Similar to writing up marriage and divorce papers all at the same table...how festive can the wedding possibly be? ...but I know the Israelis generally feel like it's their God-given right...that is just so anti-diplomatic..fake?
