Israel will do as it has become accustomed to doing. It will lie to itself, believe itself, and then lie to the world. For many years the world could far better trust the word of Israel than any of it's antagonists. The antagonists have not become more truthful, rather Israel has sunk to their level of honesty. Both sides talk to themselves and then talk back to themselves until their big lies become believed by themselves is no one else. There were a myriad of options open to Israel but ONLY brute force could appease the egos and desires of Netanyahu, Lieberman and Barak. They were determined that Israel would 'solve' the problem with military force and so they managed to turn a public relations problem into a public relations disaster. IF they are still in control of the nation a week from now the world will see Israel as incorrigible. A rogue nuclear state like North Korea which engages in mindless mayhem and murder at sea for the ego-thrills and political gain of it's masters. Netanyahu, Lieberman and Barak are nothing any decent nation would choose and ONLY Israel may save itself from them. Israel could have maintained it's status as the Legal Occupying Power with it's blockade of Gaza unbroken without defaming itself. That was not the choice of Israel's ruling junta.
