I used to work in health insurance in Connecticut. Lieberman has changed, alot since he first ran. But the new compromise will accomplish what the public option would have accomplished. It is also the camel's nose under the tent. It lowers the age of eligibility for Medicare. That is good. It will provide what will be relatively low cost insurance to those 55-64. The compromise also mandates higher benefit ratios for all private insurance. And the insurance companies have bought in so far. Push everything through fast, before Christmas. Fix any problems later. And keep the 2010 implementation date.
